2011 LAUTUM Award Winner Joe Reid

The LAUTUM Award is the highest honor that we bestow on one of our members every year. It stands for strength, dedication, leadership, commitment, integrity and honor. This award is chosen by their peers and awarded to the one individual who reflects these qualities.

This year's winner is a true leader in our industry and is very respected by his peers. He was always involved in IAMIC committees and greatly cared about the Mutual industry. He also knew how important it was to stay on top of legislative issues both at the national and state levels.

Joe began working in the insurance industry in 1984 and became part of the Insurance Agency in 1997 -- becoming the Secretary/Treasurer of the Mutual in 2005. He became active in IAMIC shortly after taking his roll there. He chaired the Government Relations Committee for several years, served on IAMIC's Board of Directors from 2003 - 2005, served in the Chair's of our Association in 2009, 2010 & 2011. He served as an Agents Advisory Council for Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company before becoming a Board of Director in 2010.

While Joe is no longer with us -- we are reaping the rewards of his efforts. He helped many Mutual's in various ways and helped develop policy that will continue to help us prosper for years to come.
