Becoming a Member
Membership in the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies is by company or firm, not by individual. IAMIC offers four types of membership options.
Reinsurer Membership
$1650
This tier offers a non-voting membership for reinsurance companies and brokers that support and serve the mutual insurance industry. As a Reinsurance or Broker Member, your organization will receive valuable opportunities to connect with mutual insurance professionals, stay informed on industry education and events, and take advantage of discounted seminar rates and other Association benefits. Members in this category may also be recognized as a preferred vendor referral for Mutual Member companies seeking reinsurance and brokerage services.
Agency Membership
$100
This tier offers a non-voting membership for any agency that is Incorporated or an LLC who is affiliated with a Mutual Member. As a Non-Voting Member there is limited involvement, however, does offer access to our 401K retirement program and discounted seminar rates.
Associate Membership
$500
This membership option is reserved for those companies that provide services to the insurance industry. This includes any insurance company not incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois, and any industry-related firm, business or association and is also a non-voting tier.
Domestic Mutual Membership
$1500
Domestic Mutual Membership provides the same valuable benefits, resources, education, discounts, networking, advocacy, and recognition opportunities available to our full members. Domestic Mutual members are encouraged to participate in association committees and stay actively engaged with industry colleagues and programs. This membership tier is non-voting, and Domestic Mutual members are not eligible to hold elected office.

Membership in our association delivers practical resources, meaningful connections, and opportunities to help your organization succeed. Members receive access to valuable programs and discounts—including our 401(k) Group Program, AAIS forms, Opterrix software, EPOC forms, website design, and promotional and office supplies. Stay informed through industry publications and educational programs, add your voice to state and federal legislative efforts, and build relationships with fellow insurance professionals. Membership also opens doors to scholarships, professional recognition and awards, advertising, sponsorships, and other opportunities to elevate your organization.
Out-of-State Mutual Membership
$5000
Out-of-State Mutual Membership provides the same valuable benefits, resources (including AAIS discounted forms and Opterrix Software), education, discounts, networking, advertising, sponsorship, and professional recognition opportunities available to full members.
State-specific advocacy is available when sufficient membership support is established within that state. Member dues and participation help fund an in-state lobbyist who monitors insurance-industry issues and represents members’ interests at the state level.
