Trish Mickley, Mt Carroll Mutual Insurance Company was recognized on Monday, August 22, as this year's recipient of the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies' (IAMIC) highest honor, the Lautum Award. Mickley received the award during the Opening Session of the 135th annual IAMIC convention at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center in East Peoria, IL.

The Lautum Award originated in 1972 as a measure of recognition for outstanding individual contributions to community, the association, and the mutual insurance industry. The Lautum Award is presented to the person who has earned the respect and esteem from colleagues. Recipients are nominated by their peers.

Jackie Rakers, Executive Director of the Association stated, “This year's winner is well-respected in the state and national industry families for representing her mutual with integrity, efficiency and respect. She believes in the philosophy that you don’t need to worry about helping a competitor, if the assistance improves our industry climate, everyone wins.”

“She is fast to help her fellow mutual in any way she can – sharing her knowledge and any documents that will help whoever is in need. She is active in our Government Relations and has served on the committee, actively participating in State Legislative Days in Springfield, as well as the CCP programinWashingtonDC.ShealwaystakesaleadroleanddiscussesissueswithourRepresentatives,” Rakers continued.

“Her encouragement and constant support of the industry and association should be rewarded with this treasured and honored award. Past LAUTUM recipients hold dear to this award, and this year's winner will be no exception,” Rakers added.

Mickley is very active in her community and has served on various boards including her church and school board. She is married to Dave and they have two children, Nathan and Anna. Congratulations Trish!
