Have you had to replace any farm equipment in the last year?  Prices have been much higher than our previous years – are you charging the right price for what’s on the books?  Steve will share the equipment market with us and shed light on areas you may need to focus on in the future.

Inspections can show a more detailed view of the properties that are on the books or that you are considering.  Knowing what information is collected can help underwriters make better decisions and helps to ensure that adequate coverage is secured.   What are you asking for in an inspection?

We will bring a panel of agents to the discussion as we learn what agents need from the underwriter to secure the best coverage for the property.  Do agents feel overwhelmed with requests to submit a new application?  Are there ways we can improve our communications and set expectations to help build a better relationship?

Taking the information already discussed, this roundtable will be a chance for us to brainstorm ideas to strengthen our companies.  While it’s always allowed to let the conversation grow organically to the needs of those involved, we will also have some guided questions to spark creative ideas.

3:25pm - 4:15pm --  The Tide Changed...did you?  Is your underwriting adequate for today's world?

Covid started it all with increased pricing and supply shortages.  Then the big storms hit and our world changed.  Is it time to tap the brakes on new business?  Historically new business has a higher loss ratio in the first three years than the “seasoned” business already on the books.  Do you have a low-value property that is also not generating enough rate?  This class will share ideas on how to re-underwrite what you have and how to be prepared to look into the future.
