2010 Fire Department of the Year Award Winner

Eureka-Goodfield Named 2010 Fire Department of the Year

Woodford employee Nancy Barker, Fire Chief Craig Neal, and Woodford Mutual employee Kelly Hochecker

This marks the eleventh year that IAMIC has recognized an Illinois Fire Department for their contributions to their communities. The award was established in 2000 because of the importance of fire departments in preserving life and property in our local communities.

The 2010 recipient of the Fire Department of the Year award embodies all that we value in our fire departments – courageousness, determination and dedication. It is with great pleasure therefore that we present the 2010 Fire Department of the Year award to the Eureka Fire Department.

As active as they are brave and committed, this 78 member team serve an 84 square mile district and the 11 thousand people that live there. Nominated by Woodford County Mutual, retired manager George Luthe wrote, "These are dedicated people and we can attest to their activities and community services as they are right next door."

The dedication and determination that this department has diligently put toward the betterment and safety of their community earns them badges of honor with every service call. We are proud to recognize Eureka - Goodfield with the Fire Department of the Year Award and offer them our congratulations and sincere thanks for the work they do.
