2017 LAUTUM Award Winner Sandy Bear

BLOOMINGTON, IL - Sandy Bear was honored with the prestigious LAUTUM Award at the 136th Annual Convention of the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies in August.

The nomination for Bear stated, “My nominee truly exemplifies the Farm Mutual concept of ‘Neighbor Helping Neighbor’“. She is well respected in the state and national industry families for representing her mutual with integrity, efficiency and respect.

Bear served on the IAMIC Board of Directors for many years, as well as numerous committees. Her peers described her as always the friendly face at every event, staying engaged with changed in the industry and forming steadfast friendship in the mutual family. She has mentored many mutual managers and underwriters over the years, always sharing her knowledge and any documents needed. She has since retired from her mutual.

LAUTUM is Mutual spelled backward and stands for strength, dedication, leadership, commitment, integrity and honor. The award originated in 1972 as a measure of recognition for outstanding individual contributions to community, the association and the mutual insurance industry. The LAUTUM Award is presented to the person who has earned the respect and esteem of her colleagues. Recipients are nominated by their peers.

The Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies is a trade association comprised of farm mutual insurance companies. Mutual insurance, like the farming industry, has been a part of the Illinois landscape for well over a century.
