2019 LAUTUM Award Winner Dan Young

Dan Young receives LAUTUM Award from IAMIC
Peoria, IL - Dan Young, the manager of Central Illinois Mutual, was honored with the prestigious LAUTUM Award at the 138th Annual Convention of the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (IAMIC) in August.

LAUTUM is Mutual spelled backward and stands for strength, dedication, leadership, commitment, integrity, and honor.  The award originated in 1972 as a measure of recognition for outstanding individual contributions to the community, the association, and the mutual insurance industry. The LAUTUM Award is presented to the person who has earned the respect and esteem of his colleagues. Recipients are nominated by their peers.

This year’s winning nomination read, “Anytime I seek advice on the most efficient way to do something or want to make sure we are following protocol, I reach out to him because I know he has the answers.”    He is well respected by his peers and is always engaged and productive.

In addition, she stated, “His leadership qualities are exceptional.  He participates in round table discussions, where I always seem to learn something new from him.”

His board has written that he was “Instrumental in the continued success of our Mutual.  He is very progressive in his thinking, helping the Mutual to advance in many ways.  We are now much more technologically advanced with our computer system for premium payments, claims, underwriting, and many other system functions. “

I am sure all who knows him agrees that he exemplifies the qualities that represent the Lautum award!

Dan has served on the IAMIC board of directors for 4 years before moving into the leadership role where he currently is the Vice Chair and will become Chair in 2021.

Congratulations Dan!
