2012 Volunteer of the Year Award Winner

Tricia Mickley Named 2012 Volunteer of the Year

Volunteer of the Year
Tricia Mickley, Mt. Carroll Mutual

Volunteerism: Touching Lives, Lifting Spirits...You make a difference in the lives of others.

"The ultimate expression of generosity is not in giving of what you have, but in giving of who you are."

The Volunteer of the Year Award was designed to recognize one of the many individuals that step forward to serve. Volunteers are the lifeblood of IAMIC. And while I am grateful for the many volunteers that help make all our events happen, there is one individual who has assisted in many different areas during the year.

Our Volunteer of the Year Award this year is going to a dear friend, someone who is involved in many different areas of our Association! Knowing that a simple email or phone call will generate a "yes, whatever you need" brings a sense of comfort that I can't express.

This year’s winner has been involved in IAMIC for many years and has stepped up to volunteer in many capacities – serving on several committees including the Board of Directors and the Leadership roles. She is always willing to help me, regardless of the task – with a friendly – "Sure, I know how or I have one I'll send it to you" or "let me do some research – I’ll get back to you" and she ALWAYS does! When she was the Chairman of IAMIC, I knew that an email to her would be replied within hours and as we traveled the state, she was always willing to step up to help, from setting up registrations to packing and loading the car!

She is very involved, greeting members with a great smile and friendly hello – helping other Mutuals in many ways ~ and ALWAYS asks me what she can do to make my job a little easier – and she often does!

Congratulations Trish on being selected Volunteer of the Year and thank you so much for all that you have done and continue to do on our behalf. Thank you!
