Claims Seminar Agenda

Let’s Rapp  Robert Rapp, Department of Insurance

IAMIC is bringing back Rob Rapp, Assistant Deputy Director of the Department.  This session allows members a one on one opportunity to discuss many claims situations and share different scenarios that we are faced with when processing claims.  Focusing on the loss settlement terms will help shine the light on the insured's responsibility.

Match This

When a storm hits and partially damages property, we are always faced with matching material issues.  New judgments in other states could change the rules we have all been using.  Finding the line of site expectations as well as what exactly does like kind and quality mean could make a difference in satisfying the policy.  Tim Finn, Attorney with Leahy, Eisenberg & Fraenkel will help us understand the legal side.

Now What

We just found out what the Department of Insurance rules state and we found out the legal issues in the Matching game….now it’s time to talk about how it will directly affect our Mutuals.  Our roundtable discussion will be moderated by Chris Feldt, Heartland Mutual.

Beauty is a Beast (Metal Roofing)

ESI Engineering will discuss the correct installations practices for metal roofing and demonstrate the difference in structural vs cosmetic damage when hail hits.  Once the adjusters understand the difference, how do you educate the consumers, so they don’t feel bamboozled.   In addition, we will learn how to be pro-active when inspecting metal roofs – did you know that the fastener locations is critical?  We will learn how to spot some potential issues to help us accurately inspect these new roofs.

To preserve the professional business environment, no one under age of 14 will be allowed to attend IAMIC functions, unless invited for a special event.  Registration implies consent for all photos and videos that are taken on site to be used in IAMIC promotional items and on the website.  If you wish to opt out - please contact the IAMIC office at 217-563-8300 or email Jackie at [email protected]
